Residential Remodeling: Kitchens, Doors & Trim
Interior remodeling projects are usually about how a home actually functions day to day — a kitchen layout that's stopped working for a family's needs, worn or mismatched interior doors, or trim and finish details that never got completed. We take on kitchen remodels, interior door replacement, and trim carpentry for homes across West-Central and Southwest Missouri, scoped in writing so it's clear exactly what's changing.
Overview
About our residential remodeling work
Kitchen work can range from a cabinet and countertop replacement to a larger reconfiguration involving layouts, plumbing, electrical work, and flooring. The scope should identify each trade and the sequence required by the project.
Interior doors and trim are smaller in scope but make a real difference in how a home feels — replacing hollow-core doors, updating casing and baseboard, or finishing out rooms that were left unfinished are all projects we take on, whether as standalone work or bundled into a larger remodel.
Why customers choose us for this work
Clear written scope
You know exactly what's being changed, replaced, or added before work starts, not a vague verbal description.
Trade sequencing
Plumbing and electrical work should be sequenced with cabinetry, surfaces, and finish work during a kitchen remodel.
Carpentry attention to detail
Trim, casing, and door installation are done with attention to plumb, level, and clean joints, not just speed.
Flexible scope
Projects can be a full kitchen overhaul or a smaller, focused update — we scope to what actually makes sense for your budget.
Our process
How the job runs, start to finish
Step 1
Site visit
We walk the space with you, discuss what's not working about the current layout or finishes, and talk through realistic options.
Step 2
Written scope and quote
We put together a written scope covering cabinets, countertops, doors, trim, and any plumbing or electrical coordination needed, with a price.
Step 3
Scheduling and materials
Cabinets, doors, trim, and any required trade work need to be placed in the construction sequence.
Step 4
Build
Demo, if needed, comes first, followed by framing changes, trade rough-in, cabinetry, trim, and finish work in sequence.
Step 5
Final walkthrough
We walk the finished space with you, check doors, drawers, and trim for fit and function, and address any final punch-list items.
Materials and methods
What to think about before you build
Cabinet-refacing vs. full replacement
Refacing existing cabinet boxes with new doors and fronts costs less than full replacement but only makes sense if the existing boxes are in good, square condition.
Layout changes and utilities
Moving a sink, stove, or major appliance may require plumbing or electrical changes, affecting cost and construction sequencing.
Solid vs. hollow-core interior doors
Solid-core doors cost more but feel and sound noticeably better than hollow-core doors, which are lighter and less expensive but can feel flimsy over time.
Matching existing trim profiles
If you're only replacing trim in part of a house, matching the existing profile keeps things looking consistent; older homes sometimes have discontinued profiles that require a custom match.

Questions
Residential Remodeling FAQs
Can you remodel just my kitchen without touching other rooms?
Yes, kitchen remodels are often standalone projects. We'll scope exactly what's included so work stays contained to the space you want changed.
Can a kitchen remodel include plumbing and electrical work?
Yes. Identify needed plumbing and electrical changes when defining the project so the required trades and sequence can be discussed.
Can you replace just a few interior doors, or does it need to be the whole house?
Either works — we can replace a handful of doors or do the whole house, depending on your budget and what you want to update.
How long does a kitchen remodel take?
It depends heavily on scope — a countertop and cabinet swap is much faster than a full layout reconfiguration with plumbing and electrical changes. We'll estimate realistically once the scope is set.
Will you help me pick cabinet and finish styles?
We can offer practical input based on what we've seen hold up well and fit different budgets, though final style and finish selections are yours to make.
