Shell or turnkey
A dried-in shell covers the structure, roof and exterior so the building is closed in; a turnkey home adds interior finishes. The pathway changes scope, schedule and price.
Roofing and siding
Metal roofing and metal siding are common on barndominiums; shingles, vinyl siding or a mix can also be discussed.
Doors, windows and insulation
Overhead and walk-in doors, window placement and insulation choices depend on how each part of the building will be used and heated or cooled.
